Welcome to LancasterHistory.org’s Collection Database

Scouts Plate Document

LancasterHistory.org exists to engage and educate the public about the people, places, and events that shaped Lancaster County within the broader context of the history of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States of America.

This collection database provides access to a large portion of LancasterHistory.org’s collection, including photographs, objects, and Lancaster County’s historic government records. To complete your search of our cataloged collection items, you may also wish to search our Library Catalog and Manuscript Group Finding Aids. Although the databases are updated regularly, not all of our collections are searchable online.

If you are unable to find what you are looking for, please contact the staff directly at archives@lancasterhistory.org. Visit us at http://lancasterhistory.org/ and 230 N. President Ave, Lancaster, PA.

Tips for Searching

  • The Keyword Search button allows you to perform a general search across multiple fields for any catalog records online.
  • The Advanced Search button can help you be more specific with your search. You can search for a word or phrase within a particular search category or use multiple categories to further narrow down your search results.
  • The Random Images button is a great way to just browse the collection. Each Random Images page displays a random assortment of images from the records online. If something piques your interest, click the thumbnail to view a larger version of the image.
  • The Archives, Photos, or Objects specific buttons allow you to only search items that are of that particular collection.
